If you're trying to access the schedule builder, but it does not get past the "LOADING" screen, it is timing out. This can be caused by many factors, but here is one way to get around it. For the Fall 2010 course schedule, directly access the XML asset here: http://bingbuilder.com/assets/BRAINoutputFall10.xml. This is a large file, which may slow down your computer momentarily. This is also why the builder times out, because your connection may be too slow to download the entire file. If you are able to access it directly like this, it will be cached in your browser and accessed instantly the next time you try to build a schedule.
Let us know if you are still experiencing time outs.
If you are having problems viewing the Flash applications, upgrade your system to the latest version by visiting Adobe's Flash Player installation page. If you do not see the Flash applications correctly or you just see a vacant space, make sure Flash Player 9 or better is installed on your computer.
To ensure the security of both BingBuilder users and non-users, users must verify their accounts. This means that the email address provided at registration will be sent a confirmation email containing a link that when followed will verify the account automatically. Why is this done? This proves that the user's email address exists (so that notifications will not bounce back) and also that the addressee is the one who registered the account (to prevent mail from being delivered to the wrong recipient). Even though the email is sent immediately upon registration, there can be a delay on the Binghamton webmail server of a few minutes when it is busy. This is fine, though, because users are automatically logged into their accounts when they register. After signing out, the account must be verified to log back in. If you did not receive your verification email, enter your account information in the form below or contact us for further assistance.
BingBuilder is determined to make student life easier even outside of the realm of course registration. Visit the New to BU: Freshmen Guide page and see useful information that goes beyond any walk-around tour of campus. If you're actually new to BU, you'll find this guide to be helpful as you learn about what there is to do both on and off campus. If you've been here a while, help a fellow student and submit content for the guide.
Bugs
BingBuilder is still being developed and so there may be a few bugs in the software that still need to be worked out. If you come across one of these errors you can either email us or fill out the feedback form. When submitting a bug, please be as descriptive as possible so that we can recreate your error and attempt to fix it.
